The 1st ASSISTANT MANAGER assists the General Manager with providing support for running a profitable restaurant and making sure the restaurant meets McDonald's critical customer standards of Quality, Service and Cleanliness. These standards are HIGH! The 1st assistant manager works with his/her leader to provide support for the GM to achieve the restaurant's goals and helps create a plan to achieve the goals.
To meet restaurant goals, the 1st assistant manager assists the GM to make sure each department manager leads his/her team and maintains their specific responsibilities in the restaurant. This means helping department managers to set their own goals, following up on their progress and providing coaching and direction to improve their departments. By improving the departments, the restaurant improves!
The 1st assistant manager also helps with making sure each department manager runs their department accurately and responsible in making sure customers get a fast, accurate, friendly experience with every visit. Also, the 1st assistant managers' responsibilities may include manager assigned systems like training, food safety and inventory management, setting goals, delegating tasks to their teams, following up and reporting results back to their team and other managers.
